This article was about the Eiva Arts Foundation and how they are making a change in Armenia. It "aims to raise public awareness of human rights and social issues in Armenia through visual media content (illustrated stories, photo stories, PSAs and other forms of interactive visual arts), street art installations, and participatory public events." The foundation got young artists to travel to different towns and use art to depict social issues and how they can change it. Their first public appearance was in BarCamp Yerevan where they drew “Elephant and Pelmingo”. In October 2013 Eiva was invited to speak at the Youth to Business Forum to talk about leadership. In late October the foundation held a SocialArt where 150 people created at least 220 paintings, all having to do with social issues.
I think the Evia Arts Foundation is such a good cause and is very creative in the way they choose to project the ideas of social issues. I also noticed in the article that the popularity of the foundation is gaining really fast and more people were getting involved. They used creativity and used apart of their culture to make Armenia a better place and thats why so many people wanted to see more. Plus, the fact that they used artists that are young shows that they are also doing this to help the future of the country with the next generation of creative thinkers.
This news article relates to the culture of Armenia because art is a big part of their culture. The Evia Arts Foundation fused the art of Armenia and the people minds to make stunning pictures that show social issues happening around the country. Because art is a cultural trait of the people in Armenia, thats why so many other citizens felt te need to see more and address the issues the paintings are depicting. The art is what tied the culture to the paintings.
